Official Wiki Rules

Last updated: March 2024. Failure to follow these rules may lead to page deletion or account banning.

1. Gore and Graphic Content

Safety and transparency are vital. You must add the {{ContentWarning}} template to any page containing gore, intense graphic violence, or unsettling medical imagery.

2. Copyright and Licensing

If you are uploading a file or asset that you do not own (e.g., sound effects from movies, images from other creators), you must add a "Fair Use" justification in the file description to prevent DMCA strikes.

3. Quality Standards (No Low Effort)

do not type about extremely low effort screamers.

Entries that consist of just a video with 2 frames and 1 generic sound are not permitted. We are an archive for conceptual and creative horror. You can type about anything else—psychological horror, atmospheric tension, or complex flash apps—but "lazy" 2-frame jump-scares will be removed.

4. No Horror Movie Entries

Do not type about horror movies. Seriously, they are not bait-and-switch content. Movies are expected to have screamers; this wiki focuses on unexpected jump-scares, flash games, and internet-based horror that catches viewers off-guard.

5. No Raids or Brigading

Do not ask for raids. We are a fanon encyclopedia, not your army. Using this platform to organize or encourage harassment against other sites, creators, or users will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

6. Legal Compliance

Do not upload imagery that violates United States laws or regulations. This includes, but is not limited to, illegal graphic content or material that infringes upon major safety protocols. Any such content will be handed over to the proper authorities if necessary.

7. Page Maintenance

Help the moderators keep the archive clean. If you find a page that is blank, violates quality standards, or is spam, add the {{Delete}} tag at the top of the page so it can be reviewed and removed.

8. Respect and Attribution

Always credit the original creator of a fanon screamer. Plagiarism is grounds for an immediate ban. If a creator asks for their work to be removed from the fanon wiki, we will honor that request.
